All sorts of Grand Plans with no Follow Through

I had definite plans to write a blog post each day of this month. I was not going to fail in doing this. And then, yesterday happened. *smirk* It always does.

Work went fine. Well, as fine as work can go after a week's vacation and a long weekend on top of it. Of course I didn't want to work. Who would? Still, most everyone seemed happy that I was back at work and my work hadn't piled up impossibly high - just ALMOST impossibly high.

After work I went home and found myself relieved to not have to teach any piano lessons since my normal Tuesday students were still traveling home from their long weekend away.

Then, just about the time I was going to start my blog post, Ashley got home and all my plans went out the window. See, Ashley was in a rather bad accident yesterday on her way home from work. She just recently bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee and hadn't been having any problems, but for some reason, yesterday her breaks decided to lock up at the worst possible moment. She ran into the back of the car in front of her and all but totalled her Jeep. Since the airbags in her vehicle deployed while both of her hands were on the steering wheel, her right arm was very sore and starting to swell. Immediate reaction from Joseph, Titus, and I - get Ashley to the ER or at least the Urgent Care center near us to get x-rays on her arm. So, Ashley and I headed out for Urgent Care. Of course, when we got there we discovered that the place had closed 30 minutes before our arrival. We went to dinner instead. Now, let me mention here that it was not Ashley's idea to get her arm x-rayed. She has broken her right wrist two or three time before and kept saying that it didn't feel as bad as it had when she had broken it before. "Better safe than sorry," I kept telling her.

We never did make it to the ER after finding Urgent Care closed. Instead we went to Target after dinner to pick up Alice in Wonderland. I did, however, make her all but promise me that she would visit Urgent Care in the morning if her arm was still hurting. Sheesh! I'll tell you...getting that girl to see a doctor is like pulling teeth without painkillers!

So, if you think about it today, please pray that everything works out quickly for Ashley. She needs a rental vehicle or a daily ride to work, she needs to get things sorted out with her insurance, she needs a day to relax after such a bad accident, and she needs to find a new vehicle - again.

I Want to Write

I really do, but I keep drawing a blank when I try to think about writing something specific. Maybe if I write a post that has absolutely nothing to do with anything my writer's and reader's block will go away. Yes, reader's block. I just cannot get into any books right now. I have forced my way through two graphic novels this week, but that's it. In the past two WEEKS I've only read three graphic novels. Oh, and TON of online Harry Potter fan fiction. Like, twenty books worth of it. Who would have thought that I would actually be interested in imagining what it would be like if Hermione Granger married Severus Snape. Weird, I know.

On a different note, my mom came down to VA to visit and hang out this weekend. She came Friday afternoon and stayed until Saturday evening. Definitely had a blast with her. Always do. We went to the local library booksale together on Saturday. Then we visited the used bookstore in Manassas. Here's a random thought from my time with my mom. Do you have ANY idea how impossible it is to find an original version of Boggle? Like, seriously. Mom and I went to Target AND Wal-Mart and couldn't find it at either store. Both had an electronic version, but believe me when I say that it would never be able to handle the amount of play an original version would be able to.

I really need to catch up with all my blog reading too. I've been lurking on a few blogs, but for the most part I've not even read the blogs that I follow on a regular basis. How sad is that? I need to focus. That's my problem. Right now I feel like a little kid in a toy store. Too many toys, not enough time to play. *sigh* I don't have ADD, Mr. Policeman, but that bird that flew in front of my car was soo pretty that I just HAD to look instead of paying attention to where I was driving. I really didn't mean to hit the other car. (j/k I've not been THAT bad, yet.)

Anyway, I'm gonna go. See if I can convince my boxer baby to play fetch with me outside while the sun is still up. Gotta go grab a sweatshirt. Bye for now.

One Year and A Few Hours Later

It doesn't feel like it's been a year since I started this blog. But it has been. This past year flew by faster than anything ever has. Why is it that every year feels shorter than the year before it? Will it always feel like this? Cause if it does...I'm done growing up! For reals this time! I hate feeling like I just closed my eyes on my last birthday only to open them up on the next.

Now, don't get me wrong. I DO remember all kinds of fun stuff from this past year, but it has still gone by way too fast!

Well, here's to another fun year! It's gonna be a blast!

Losing Myself in Wrestling

It's been 13 days since I last posted. Wow. I've been so busy playing FB wrestling when I've had any free moments that I had almost forgotten that I had a blog. So, let me tell you a little bit about what I've been up to.

To be honest with you, I don't really remember the 10th through the 13th. At all. The 14th found me in my morning room having a color "party" with Joanna and Hannah. Joanna and I were getting ready for the TLC Ladies Luncheon at church at noon. We were having so much fun talking and getting ready that we were both late to the luncheon, but it was still alot of fun. After the luncheon we all went home and I have no idea what I did for the rest of the day.

Oh wait! I forgot the biggest news. On the 10th... I signed up to be a Mary Kay consultant. Finally.

So, back to the breakdown. Missions Conference at CBC started on the 14th and continued through Wednesday, the 18th. However, instead of attending Missions Conference on Monday night, I joined Hannah at Susie's house for my very first Mary Kay business meeting as a consultant. It was there that I received my Mary Kay pin.

Monday through Wednesday found me out of my house until sometime after 9pm each night. Not much sleep at all was happening. This was amplified by the fact that Joseph and I were dog sitting Max and Bailey from the 14th until just yesterday. Then, on Thursday, Ace joined in the madness. (Ace is Tres and Somer's mixed breed puppy.) Ace and Rocky are great friends and they LOVE to play fight ALL day! Literally.

Anyway, if you made it through reading that whole jumble of thoughts, you're a better person than I. I was seriously just writing as I thought of everything.
