It's Monday, What are You Reading? (5)

What are you reading on Mondays? is a meme hosted by Sheila. This is our opportunity as bloggers to share what we've read in the past week and what we plan on reading this week. If you'd like to join in (it's really fun), go to One Persons Journey Through a World Of Books and add your name to the list.

What I Read This Week:

The Poor Little Rich Girl ~ Eleanor Gates
An Old-Fashioned Girl ~ Louisa May Alcott
Glass Houses ~ Rachel Caine
The Dead Girls' Dance ~ Rachel Caine
Midnight Alley ~ Rachel Caine
Feast of Fools ~ Rachel Caine
Lord of Misrule ~ Rachel Caine
Carpe Corpus ~ Rachel Caine
Fade Out ~ Rachel Caine
Helen in the Editor's Chair ~ Ruthe S. Wheeler
Book of a Thousand Days ~ Shannon Hale

Currently Reading:

Twenty Four Hours a Day ~ Faith Baldwin
The Noisy Seven: A Story of Seven Boys ~ Alice Pickford Brockway

What I'd Like to Read This Week:

Under the Lilacs ~ Louisa May Alcott
The Ministry of Marriage ~ Tim Binney
The Shack ~ Wm. Paul Young

There are so many other books that I still have on my TBR shelf, but I really need to read The Ministry of Marriage since I borrowed it from a friend around two months ago. Yikes! As for The Shack, I'm not sure what to expect. My mother-in-law loved it. Raves about it. I tend to discover that books that are raved about by lots of people end up making absolutely no impression on me. And, honestly, even a bad impression is better than none at all in my opinion.

You are a busy reader.

I agree, many books that people rave about, I don't really like.

Happy Reading:)

Wow! Looks like you had a bit of a Rachel Caine marathon! I still need to read all of her books. I finally broke down and bought Glass Houses at the Half-Priced bookstore. Hope you read lots this week as well!

WOW! That's a lot for 1 week. I was just discussing LM Alcott's lesser known novels with my mom and saying I had to do a re-read of them.

Book of a Thousand Days has been on my shelf for quite some time--it sounds really good, but I just never get to it. The Shack is one that I have steered clear of --my mom read it and pretty much filled me in. I know it will not align with my theological views (bordering on heretical) and I don't think I could read it just as a work of fiction-the theology stuff would just be in the way. I will be interested in what you have to say about it. :)
Have a happy reading week!

How awesome to find another reader like myself! Love the line-up!

And I can't wait to read Becoming Jane Eyre either. Loved Jane Eyre - so that's the reason I picked it up!

So many books you've read in the past week! You seriously need to share your tips there :P Hope that this week would be as productive and about The Shack, I didn't really like the book despite reading good reviews from others as well. Guess that some books are not meant for us, eh? Do visit my site here when you got the time.

Have a pleasant week!

I really really liked Book of a Thousand Days, can't wait to read the review!

I need to branch out and read more Louisa May Alcott, it's been years since I read her at all, and I liked all the Little Women related books.

I notice a lot of Rachel Caine in your list. I've not heard of her before, perhaps I could check out her books one day. How are they like?

Ooh, I've read An Old-Fashioned Girl too. An eye-opening story.

I can't wait to read your review of The Shack. It's on my bookshelf, but I just haven't been able to pick it up (I'm afraid...)

That's quite a Rachel Caine list you just finished! I've only read a Weather Warden short story by her, but I enjoyed and do have her books on my list. I loved Book of a Thousand Days!

Enjoy your books this week!
